If
you decide to come by train, you have chosen for a more relaxed way of traveling.
The train north is an overnight trip so there is automatically a night included
in your journey. This train is operated by Veolia and accommodation ranges
from chairs to private couchettes.

The train starts in the south of Sweden at the end of the afternoon in Goteborg. It will work his way up to Stockholm Central where it will leave in the evening for it's 1100 km journey into the polar region. You can have something to eat and drink in the train restaurant, tuck in early, and wake up the next morning in a beautiful white landscape of northern Sweden. After a late breakfast you will arrive in the end of the morning in Boden where your connecting train will wait for you to bring you to Gallivare. On that train, near the station of Murjek, you will cross the Polar circle! Ask the train host to alert you! In Gallivare you can hop on the 30 minute bus to Porjus. Check the bus section for more details.
